In plain English — Tax Samjho is free and provided "as is" for personal and business planning. Our calculators give estimates, not official figures. You are responsible for your own tax filings, business documents, and investment decisions. We are not liable for losses that come from relying on our tools or blog. These terms are governed by Indian law.

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "user", "visitor") and Tax Samjho ("we", "our", "us", the "Company"), the operator of the website https://taxsamjho.com (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, stop using the Site immediately.

2. Eligibility

By using the Site, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old, or a legal adult in your jurisdiction.
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
  • You will use the Site only for lawful personal or business planning purposes.
  • The information you provide about yourself (if you register or contact us) is truthful.

Tax Samjho publishes free tools and content, including:

  • Tax and finance calculators — India, US, UK, Canada, and Australia income tax; CTC to in-hand salary; EMI, SIP, PPF, FD, HRA, and GST calculators.
  • Document generatorsGST invoice generator, rent receipt generator, and online PDF editor.
  • Finance blog — Original articles on Indian income tax, GST, personal finance, and market news.

Features, layouts, and content may be added, modified, or removed at any time without notice.

4. No professional advice

All content, calculators, articles, and downloadable documents are provided for general information and planning purposes only. Nothing on Tax Samjho constitutes:

  • Tax advice under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, or any equivalent statute.
  • Legal advice from an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
  • Investment advice under SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.
  • Financial planning services under any SEBI or IRDAI regulation.

Use of the Site does not create a professional client relationship. For your specific situation, consult a licensed Chartered Accountant, Advocate, or SEBI-registered adviser.

5. Your account (if applicable)

If we offer account registration, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraud, or is inactive for an extended period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers, or networks connected to the Site.
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code.
  • Overload the Site through automated scripts, bots, or excessive requests.
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content, blog articles, or tool outputs without written permission.
  • Republish our editorial content, tool designs, or code as your own product or service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from our JavaScript tools.
  • Use the Site to defame, harass, or infringe on the rights of any third party.
  • Submit false GSTIN, PAN, landlord PAN, or other legally significant data in an attempt to defraud a third party (employer, tax authority, tenant, landlord, or customer).
  • Circumvent security features, rate limits, or the cookie consent mechanism.

Violation may result in immediate access restriction and legal action.

7. Your responsibility for tool output

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and use of any calculator result, generated invoice, rent receipt, or edited PDF. Specifically:

  • Verify all figures against your actual payslip, bank statement, GST portal, or the Income Tax portal before filing.
  • Do not use fabricated PAN, GSTIN, or landlord details on any generated document.
  • A generated rent receipt does not, by itself, prove HRA eligibility — retain rent-payment proofs as required by your employer and the Income Tax Department.
  • GST invoices generated with our tool must be re-verified for HSN/SAC accuracy, tax rate, and place of supply before being sent to a customer.

8. Intellectual property

The Site, including its design, code, content, calculators, blog articles, brand name "Tax Samjho", logo, and layout, is owned by us or licensed to us. It is protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

  • You may view, download, and print content for personal, non-commercial use.
  • You may link to our pages from your website, blog, or social media provided the context is not misleading.
  • You may not republish our blog articles in full on your own site (excerpts of a paragraph or two with attribution and a link back are acceptable).
  • You may not use our brand name or logo in a way that suggests affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
  • Calculator outputs and documents you generate belong to you. You have full rights to use them for your own purposes.

9. User-generated content

If we introduce features that allow you to submit comments, questions, or documents, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and store that content for the purpose of operating the Site. You represent that any content you submit does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

10. Third-party content and links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, news sources, government portals, or resources. We do not control these external sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or accuracy. Linking does not imply endorsement.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • Warranties that calculations are accurate, complete, or match figures issued by any tax authority, bank, employer, or financial institution.
  • Warranties of uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or freedom from viruses.
  • Warranties that generated documents will be accepted by any employer, bank, tax authority, landlord, or third party.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Tax Samjho, its founders, employees, contractors, agents, or affiliates be liable for any:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, savings, business opportunities, data, or goodwill
  • Missed tax deadlines, penalties, or interest charges
  • Incorrect invoice amounts, rejected HRA claims, or bank-rejected loan calculations
  • Investment losses arising from reliance on SIP, FD, or PPF projections
  • Losses arising from actions taken after reading blog articles or finance news
  • Site downtime, data loss, or third-party service failures

Cap: Our total aggregate liability to any user for all claims arising out of or related to the Site or these Terms shall not exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which is ordinarily zero, as the Site is free).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tax Samjho and its representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with:

  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your violation of applicable law
  • Your misuse of Site tools or content
  • Your submission of false or misleading data through generated documents
  • Any dispute between you and a third party arising from your use of the Site

14. Termination and suspension

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site (in whole or in part) at any time and without notice if:

  • You violate these Terms or applicable law.
  • We are required to do so by legal or regulatory order.
  • We discontinue a service, tool, or feature.

Sections on Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law survive any termination.

15. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays, failures, or interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, acts of war or terrorism, pandemic, internet outages, hosting provider failures, cyberattacks, or power failures.

16. Changes to the Site and Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When material changes are made, we will update the "Effective date" and, where appropriate, notify users through a site notice. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent.

18. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of those rights.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute, claim, or proceeding arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in India.

20. Grievance and dispute resolution

Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by writing to contact@taxsamjho.com with a clear description of the issue. We will respond within 30 days and work in good faith to reach an amicable resolution.

21. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tax Samjho regarding your use of the Site and supersede all prior agreements.
