Cookie Policy

Complete inventory of cookies and browser storage used by taxsamjho.com, with the purpose, provider, duration, and how to control each one.

Effective date: 3 August 2026  ·  Version: 2.0

Short version — Only essential cookies (needed to run the site) are set by default. Analytics and advertising cookies load only if you accept them via the cookie banner. You can change your choice anytime by clicking Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used. Similar technologies include:

  • Local storage — Data saved in your browser (larger than cookies, does not expire automatically).
  • Session storage — Data cleared when you close the browser tab.
  • Pixels / web beacons — Tiny images used to track email opens or ad impressions.

This policy uses "cookies" as an umbrella term for all these technologies.

2. Cookie categories we use

We classify cookies into three categories, following the ICO (UK), CNIL (France), and DPDP Act 2023 (India) guidance:

  • Strictly necessary — Required for the Site to function. Cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics — Help us understand which tools are used most. Opt-in.
  • Advertising — Enable relevant ads through Google AdSense. Opt-in.

4. Google Consent Mode v2

We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which controls the following consent signals before any Google tag (Analytics, AdSense) loads:

  • ad_storage — Advertising cookies
  • ad_user_data — Sending user data for advertising
  • ad_personalization — Personalised advertising
  • analytics_storage — Analytics cookies

All four are set to denied by default. They switch to granted only when you accept the corresponding category through the cookie banner.

5. Managing your consent

First visit

On your first visit, our cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page. You can choose:

  • Accept all — Enables essential, analytics, and (if AdSense is active) advertising cookies.
  • Essential only — Only essential cookies load. No analytics or advertising.
  • Manage — Toggle analytics and advertising independently.

Changing your choice later

Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page to reopen the preferences panel. Changes take effect immediately for the current page; a page reload ensures they apply to any queued third-party requests.

Withdrawing consent completely

To withdraw all consent, either:

  • Click "Cookie settings" → toggle everything off, or
  • Clear your browser's cookies and local storage for taxsamjho.com.

6. Browser controls

You can also control cookies at the browser level. Popular browser instructions:

Blocking all cookies may cause the consent banner to reappear on every visit and could break specific features (for example, the invoice generator's draft-save function).

7. Do Not Track (DNT)

Because "Do Not Track" is not consistently implemented across browsers and there is no industry standard, we do not automatically change behaviour based on DNT signals. However, our consent banner will always honour your explicit choice.

8. Third-party cookies and CDNs

Some third-party services we use (Google Fonts, jsDelivr CDN, Tailwind CDN) may set their own cookies or log request headers. We do not control their cookie policies. See their privacy pages for details:

9. Children

Tax Samjho is intended for adults. We do not knowingly serve targeted advertising to children.

10. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this policy when we add new cookies, remove old ones, or refine our consent tools. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" and, where required, notified through a site banner.

11. Contact

Cookie or consent questions: contact@taxsamjho.com. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
